Essay Review

I wrote this essay because it was an experience that truly changed me as a person; even my habits and daily routines were never the same.

Talking about something that happened to you but not being able to express it is incredibly difficult—especially when a teacher asks you to reflect on what changed you or left a lasting mark. How do you explain that a moment still hurts? How do you write about something that is still in the process of healing?

When I finally began writing, tears ran down my cheeks as I realized that the pain had not yet passed. Some feelings were so deep that, no matter how hard I tried, I could not fully express them.

I continued writing, but my ideas were scattered. At one point, I even switched to writing in Spanish, as if the language itself could contain the depth of my emotions.

After submitting my first draft, my teacher pointed out spelling mistakes and the lack of clear connections between my paragraphs. This feedback was difficult to accept, but it motivated me to improve. I spent hours researching how to write an effective essay, focusing on using proper transitions and structure to guide the reader through my experience.

As I worked, the memories returned more vividly. I reflected deeply on how this experience had shaped me, and sought guidance from people who know me well. Their insights helped me understand the significance of this moment and how it transformed me.

Through this process, I realized that writing about personal experiences is not just about recording events—it is about understanding and communicating growth, pain, and resilience. This essay taught me the power of reflection, and how even the most difficult memories can help us grow stronger and more self-aware.
